On September 2nd, 2009, Monster Energy’s Mike Hopkins decided to push the sport of Freeride Mountain Biking. 

Mike’s team, that consisted of photographers, videographers, team managers and friends, built a massive dirt hip against the scenic backdrop of Fernie, B.C. 

A Rossland, B.C. native Mike had been eyeing up this landscape and plotting this jump for some time. 

He slowly warmed up to the speed and transition and in no time was pushing himself to hit the hip faster and faster. The natural sunlight only allowed a small window to get the right shots and Mike had no problem stepping up to the plate and getting it done.
